The government of Canada offers PhD scholarships for Canadian and international students in Canada. The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program was created to attract and retain world-class doctoral students and to establish Canada as a global center of excellence in research and higher learning.

Brisbane has been ranked 21st out of 80 cities rated in a global university cities index; the second highest of any Australian city behind Sydney.
The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Sea Turtle Index ranks the cities by potential educational, financial and real estate-related returns as well as work experience and social experience.

Brisbane did best in the work experience category which scores cities on the work and pay prospects for international students. Our city came in at seventh best in the world.
