“Kiếm Ăn” là tên đề tài nghiên cứu mà Giáo Sư Gerard Sasges dành cho nhóm sinh viên từ California đến Việt Nam vào năm 2010 và 2011. Những tài liệu họ thu được vừa được một nhà xuất bản tại Singapore cho phát hành qua cuốn sách “It's a Living: Work and Life in Vietnam Today.”

 
Các sinh viên này đến Việt Nam qua một trong các chương trình du học nước ngoài  của hệ thống đại học University of California. Giáo Sư Gerard Sasges, người phụ trách tại địa phương, quyết định đề tài cho mỗi khoá học. Cho năm 2010 và 2011, ông yêu cầu sinh viên tìm hiểu công việc của người dân tại đây. Ông đặt tên cho đề án là “Kiếm Ăn.”
